Westlake Brewing & Libations Celebrates 2-Year Anniversary

Westlake Brewing & Libations is a member of what is quickly becoming the premiere craft beer destination in Westlake Village; a walkable trifecta of breweries that also includes Five Threads Brewing and 14 Cannons Brewery. If you haven’t yet been to Westlake Brewing (or even if you have), you should make it out to their 2-Year Anniversary Party this Saturday, April 7th. Here’s why.

Westlake Brewing is not the same brewery that you once knew. For one, this is because they’ve recently expanded their offerings from craft beer to include a full bar and restaurant! You can expect craft cocktails, craft cider, wine, artisan bites courtesy of local favorites Farm & Flame, and more. These are all great on their own, but the main reason you should be paying attention to Westlake Brewing right now is their new head brew master.

Newly-appointed Josh McCombs has taken the reins behind Westlake Brewing. He has reformulated all of the beer recipes, and there is definitely a noticeable positive difference in quality and flavor of their beers. This could be attributed to his extensive knowledge and background in brewing. Josh joins Westlake Brewing after earning his wings as a brewer at Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company. He has a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in Environmental Science from George Mason University, along with a Master Brewer Certificate from World Brewing Academy in Munich, Germany. This long list of qualifications is great, but I know you’re really just interested in the beer! At the 2-Year Anniversary Party this Saturday, they will be pouring a never-before-released “Caribbean” Brown Ale, a Belgian Tripel with hibiscus, and much more. You can also expect signature food and beer tastings from 1-7 PM and live music starting at 8 PM.
